ENGIE are looking for enthusiastic candidates who would like to join our Business Administration Apprenticeship scheme based in Our Shared Service Centre, Quorum Business Park Newcastle, NE12 8EX

This is a fixed term full time role paying above the Apprentice national minimum wage.

ENGIE is global energy infrastructure, solutions, and services Group with in excess of 20,000 employees across the UK. In our Shared Service Centre we employ approximately 200 talented individuals who provide support to the wider business. 

General Overview :  

The Business Administration Apprentice will spend time across a number of departments within our UK Shared Service Centre in Newcastle.  The apprenticeship will offer valuable experience in all elements of working within a high performing Shared service environment.

You will be working towards an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Business Administration Level 2 Diploma over 18 months, whilst gaining valuable transferrable skills through practical work experience. At the end of your apprenticeship you may be offered a permanent position within and of the departments listed below at our Shared Services Centre.

Your qualification will be delivered by Adult Learning Alliance and will involve a combination of on the job learning, online learning and attending classroom type training once per month (Langdale Centre, Langdale, Hadrian Leisure Centre, St Peter's Road, Wallsend, NE28 7LQ). You will also be required to commit personal time to study.

During your apprenticeship you will spend three months in each of the following departments: 

·  HR Administration
·  Payroll
·  Accounts Payable
·  Accounts Receivable
·  Procurement Services
·  Continuous Improvement In each of those departments you will perform general administration duties and support the wider team whilst getting exposure to the following: 


HR Administration and Payroll :

·  Preparation of offers of employment
·  Preparation of employee amendment documentation
·  Introduction to SAP
·  Reports generation
·  Excel reports
·  Data input Accounts Payable :

·  Reconciliation of accounts
·  Customer service (via telephone and email)
·  Invoice processing Accounts Receivable :

·  Setting up customer accounts
·  Cash allocation
·  Credit Control
·  Procurement Services:
·  Procurement
·  Expenses
·  Continuous Improvement:
·  Employee Engagement
·  Transformation and Change

Qualifications or Required Experience :   

·  Ideally have achieved, or expected to achieve, 5 GCSE grades A – C or equivalent in Maths and English. 
·  Not have a degree level qualification  Essential Skills and Knowledge :

·  Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to express solutions and ideas to colleagues and users at all levels
·  A demonstration of  IT Skills ability using: email, word processing, and an awareness of spreadsheets
·  An interest in new areas of technology that can support customers such as automation and on-line services
·  Ability to explain routine tasks to others as directed, and an ability to listen and follow instructions
·  Ability to input, extract and interpret information from manual and computerised information sources
·  Ability to work prioritise own workload and demonstrate planning and organisational skills, and able to remain calm under pressure
·  A logical approach to problem solving
