ENGIE are recruiting for an Assistant Commercial Manager to be based in London E14 5LQ. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 09:00am - 17:00pm with a 30 minute lunch break. On offer is a competitive salary.

The assistant Commercial Manager will provide an influential pre and post contract commercial management service to a portfolio of contracts. The assistant Commercial Manager will manage numerous stakeholder relationships, including those with client representatives; ENGIE’s operational teams running the contracts and other colleagues who provide functional support to the contracts (e.g. risk, finance, legal, HR etc.).

The purpose of this role is to deliver the commercial management function across all contracts and clearly communicate the obligations and liabilities contained within both contracts to ultimately ensure that income is maximised, costs are minimised, whilst the service required is delivered, by:

·  Identifying, monitoring and reporting on risks
·  Supporting the management and mitigation of risks at all levels (operational, financial, commercial, technical, etc.)
·  Management of variation/change control
·  Repository for confidential/commercially sensitive information
·  Leading governance within the contracts to ensure that the requirements of the contract are being complied with
·  Aiding the quality of service by ensuring awareness of contractual responsibilities among all other ENGIE colleagues (including contract deliverables, scope of services etc.)
·  Assisting in the search for efficiencies and service optimisation
·  Enforcing commercial compliance (by audit and support against ENGIE’s Minimum Commercial Standards)
·  Supporting the management of cash under their contract sector
·  Being professional and equitable negotiators and dispute resolvers
·  Rebutting unfounded contractual claims
·  Taking a key role in the management of contractual claims / disputes with clients and other third-parties
·  Production of claims to any potential contentious contractual issue that may arise
·  The requirement to ensure full commercial governance to all subcontractors
·  To provide day to day commercial support to the account management teams
·  Supporting the identification, management and mitigation of risks at all levels associated with bidding new contracts
·  Leading governance within the bidding process contracts to ensure that the company’s requirements of the contract are being complied with
·  Supporting the Head of Commercial in the satisfaction of contract and company objectives
·  Taking the Commercial lead with clients directly to identify and resolve variations from the contract deliverables
·  Participating in the contract extension bid governance processes including presenting to Sector Commitment Committee
·  Negotiating, on an equitable basis, internally and externally to ensure that the business is not exposed to risk
·  Leading in all dispute resolution activity in these contracts areas or having a thorough input into the dispute resolution activity
·  Ensuring a contract review and governance framework is embedded on all contracts
·  Dealing reactively in mitigation key risk areas as they arise and providing support to Finance and Operations to resolve in a timely manner
·  Working within the operating environment to ensure ENGIE’s Code of Conduct is thoroughly understood, adhered to and promoted across the business to ensure safe, compliant and consistent working practices

Qualifications or Required Experience:  

·  Suitable commercial experience within a similar industry sector
·  Educated to degree/ diploma level in either Surveying (Building/Quantity) or the Built Environment (FM, Land)
·  Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial (Construction Act etc.)
·  Excellent communicator
·  Excellent financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy
·  Strong negotiation skills
·  Sound understanding of risk analysis/management
·  PC Literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel
·  Thorough knowledge and experience of Business Assurance systems For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK. There is no re-location package with this job role.
