ENGIE are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant x2 to be based in Leeds (LS12 1BE). This is a 12 month fixed-term contract which involves working full-time hours. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Purpose of the Job
Working as a Assistant Accountant within the Finance Department, the role supports the finance business partnering function of the Energy Supply division.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a settlements and invoice validation process
Aid with variance analysis of revenues and costs and follow variances through to recovery
Validate and analyse broker invoices
Assist with the broker reconciliation process
Understand the sales order book and maintain any data discrepancies
Validate and understand export, renewables and FiT invoices.
Assist with the preparation of data for regulatory reporting.
Investigate queries raised by customers, suppliers and brokers
Prepare ad hoc reporting information and any data inputs required for month end reporting.
Maintain process documentation for processes within the role.
Undertake any other duties as required by the role.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
Holder of an accounting (or similar) degree and are actively (or intending to begin) studying for a recognised professional accountancy qualification, preferably CIMA
Highly numerate and ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills including with non-Finance staff
Teamwork skills to suit a variety of different situations
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Desirable
Previous experience of accounting within a Finance department (ideally a minimum of 6 months)
Strong focus on excellent process delivery and continuous improvement
Ability to handle change and adapt to new situations
Experience of using Microsoft Power BI
