Description
Under the direction of the Global Application Team Leader, the Application Engineer responds to customer inquiries in the refrigeration industry, creates or identifies solutions to customer needs and prices the costs of those refrigeration solutions.

Responsibilities
·  Evaluate inquires and specifications and create formal proposals for District Sales Managers, distributors and other customers.
·  Prepare specifications, design modifications, estimates, recommendations, and other pertinent data required to satisfy customer requirements.
·  Design basic refrigeration systems and prepare quotations for compressors, condensers, air units and other components at the lowest possible price while ensuring the meeting of company profitability and quality standards and customer delivery requirements.
·  Obtain and analyze engineering data to adapt company products to customer requirements. Develop bills of materials from existing compressor product lines for compressor packagers.
·  Match or re-engineer old Vilter systems to new sets of conditions or new refrigerants and create bills of materials for replacement components and provide change over instructions.
·  Assist in the processing of orders, including a check of pricing, ratings and selection and sizing of components.
·  Act as a technical resource to customers, distributors and the field sales force, answer questions and address and resolve any problems.
·  Maintain and improve technical competency, staying current with changes in the industry.
·  Complete and maintain all required paperwork, quotes, documentation, etc.
·  Follow all housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality and safety regulations.

Desired profile

Requirements
Basic:
·  Bachelor Degree in Engineering plus one to three (1-3) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
·  Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, customer specifications, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
·  Effective communication skills.
·  Effective presentation skills to share information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and other employees of the organization.
·  Problem solving skills for mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
·  Concept application with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
·  Experience defining problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions of customer requirements.
·  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
·  Ability to operate various office equipment.

Preferred:
·  Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus three (3)+ years of related experience.
·  Preference experience is within the refrigeration industry.
·  Prior sales experience.
·  Experience developing customer proposals and reviewing specifications with terms/agreements.
