Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for driving quality improvement projects and assuring production readiness with existing suppliers and the proper development and qualification of new suppliers while meeting pre-established timelines and quality objectives.

The primary area of responsibility for this position will be working with steel and metal forming suppliers. The proper candidate must be able to demonstrate a deep working knowledge of these areas and meeting other minimum qualifications outlined below.

This individual will be a member of a GSQA team and operate in full compliance with Global Quality Assurance (GSQA) and Purchasing Process (GPP) and be responsible for full project management and results for assigned suppliers and projects

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Understand, communicate and work within Electrolux methodologies and policies.
·  Work cross functionally with Purchasing, R&D, Quality, Materials and Manufacturing to prioritize suppliers and projects according to defined quality specifications and project timing requirements and to align on problem solving and support for new supplier processes.
·  Meet defined SCR and PPM targets for assigned commodities.
·  Lead supplier quality audits and improvement programs with defined tasks and action items to deliver defined objectives.
·  Leverage statistical tools for evaluation of process capability on critical-to-quality parameters.
·  Prepare supplier quality plans for new product launches.
·  Ensure supplier preparations and readiness for relevant new business or new technology.
·  Provide Electrolux quality system training internally and externally as required.
·  Prepare necessary presentations as required.
·  Perform additional duties as assigned.

Desired profile

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

·  BS Engineering or equivalent degree.
·  Demonstrated working knowledge of metal forming processes and/or coil steel processes at mills & processing facilities
·  3 years to 5 years relevant experience in supplier development, engineering, operations, or R&D roles.
·  6 sigma green belt certification or equivalent highly preferred
·  Specific knowledge of Quality tools
·  Experience with program management a plus

·  Able to operate effectively in stressful situations.
·  Result driven and action oriented, self motivated & able to act independently as needed
·  Ability to effectively utilize application software, word processing, spreadsheets and specialized application software.

·  Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·  Ability to travel 50%-75%, both domestic and international.
