Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Plan, design, develop, automate, justify, procure, and implement manufacturing processes in a cost effective manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·  Define correct staffing levels to the production sales and inventory reports.
·  Manage actual to approved staffing.
·  Meet Industrial Engineering scored card objectives.
·  Define the sequence of manufacturing process including material flow, line balance and assembly method for operators, as well as the calculation of the standard hours for new products.
·  Determine the capacity of production and processes.
·  Improve production processes through the application of lean manufacturing (EMS) techniques to reduce wastes, costs and increase safety and quality.
·  Apply time studies and advance line balance.
·  Use AutoCAD to change layouts.
·  Conducts Ergonomics analysis.
·  Improve work station design using labor maps and process mapping.
·  Apply 5S, 7 wastes, VSM, Problem solving, SOP procedures and OEE.
·  Apply PM (Productive Maintenance) and SMED tools.
·  Develop and implement effective work place layouts for the facility on introduction and implementation of projects.
·  Support the project team through the timely assessment and acquisition of tools, tooling/fixtures, storage equipment, and material handling equipment.
·  Provide Industrial Engineering expertise to all projects.
·  Complete projects and reports on time.
·  Provide cost justification and accountability.
·  Provide process and equipment specification.
·  Involve and communicate all areas of interests when making a change.
·  Train and assist equipment operators, maintenance technicians in areas of responsibility.
·  Troubleshoot and analyze process and equipment performance for improved quality and uptime.
·  Environmental compliance.

Desired profile

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

BS Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering required; Industrial and Mechanical systems experience including packaging, layouts, conveying & product handling required; Appliance or similar product assembly experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

·  Business orientation, strategic thinking, decision making, project leadership, engineering specific skills.
·  Blue Gear or Lean manufacturing certification.

REQUIRED LANGUAGES

·  English
·  Spanish is a plus
