ENGIE are looking for enthusiastic candidates who would like to join our Financial Accounting Apprenticeship scheme based in Our Shared Service Centre, Quorum Business Park Newcastle, NE12 8EX

This is a fixed term full time role paying above the Apprentice national minimum wage.

ENGIE is global energy infrastructure, solutions, and services Group with in excess of 20,000 employees across the UK. In our Shared Service Centre we employ approximately 200 talented individuals who provide support to the wider business.

General Overview:

Your qualification will be delivered by Access Training and will involve a combination of on the job learning and a day release once per week. You will also be required to commit personal time to study.

Working alongside the Assistant Financial Accountants, the Apprentice will be given responsibility of data processing and data manipulation to provide reports and information to aid the month end process and deliver team SLAs.

You apprenticeship will last for 18 months and during this time you will study towards achieving Level 2 and Level 3 AAT Qualifications. You will be assigned a mentor who will support you through your time at ENGIE. In addition to studying you will be assigned specific tasks which will supplement your learning experience.

In this role you will learn how to:

·  Manage the Financial Accounting mailbox and ensure that the service level agreement is achieved at all times
·  Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
·  Complete payroll reconciliation matching exercise
·  GRIR cleardown MR11 transactions
·  Process monthly recurring journals
·  Prepare balance sheet clear down journals where required
·  Support the monthly allocations process
·  Process reversing journals

At the end of your apprenticeship you may be offered a permanent position in the Financial Accounting Department at the SSC or a suitable role within the wider business.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

·  5 GCSEs including Maths and English or other relevant qualification at Level 2 or above including Match and English
·  Interest in pursuing a career in Finance and willingness to learn

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

·  Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to express solutions and ideas to colleagues and users at all levels
·  A demonstration of IT Skills ability using: email, word processing, and an awareness of spreadsheets
·  An interest in new areas of technology that can support customers such as automation and on-line services
·  Ability to explain routine tasks to others as directed, and an ability to listen and follow instructions
·  Ability to input, extract and interpret information from manual and computerised information sources
·  Ability to prioritise own workload and demonstrate planning and organisational skills, and ablility to remain calm under pressure
·  A logical approach to problem solving
