Sales Planning Intern

6-month position

Start date: ASAP

Location: Richmond, London

Role summary

The Sales Planning team is tasked with supporting, developing and scaling eBay’s initiatives and in doing so support and grow our ~250k business sellers in the UK. This team drives the incubation and testing of initiatives for UK Seller Growth, unlocks new ways to scale the impact of these activities and supports the delivery of horizontal programs. 

This role will appeal to someone who is passionate about giving entrepreneurs and small to medium sized businesses the tools and information they need to succeed.  The right candidate will have a keen interest in social and a desire to use broad marketing techniques to reach our large group UK business sellers.

This role focuses on developing and scaling our current communications with our sellers. Further responsibilities are detailed below. The role also looks to consolidate and develop campaign reporting to show the results of the work being carried out within Sales Planning.

Responsibilities

This will include

·  Support in the execution of ‘horizontal’ programs and campaigns. Supporting existing marketing campaigns
·  Working towards scaling our current campaigns and activities as well as devising new ways to scale B2C activities.
·  Exploring new communication channels (text, social etc)
·  Working alongside the PR and marketing teams to make current communication and marketing activities more efficient (consider blogs, digests, information pages, events etc)
·  Closely monitor key success metrics, with primary focus on merchant growth, revenue, customer satisfaction making recommendations for programme adjustment.
·  Evidence the clear and measurable link from activities to overall business results. Validate the contribution to performance from each initiative delivered by the Sales Planning team portfolio of activities. Share these results within the Seller Growth team and the wider business
·  Collaboration with key stakeholders including the Marketing team to feedback insight, learnings & future opportunities
·  Attending operating meetings to share progress and performance updates

The role provides the right candidate with the opportunity to communicate with a broad section of eBay’s business sellers whilst using their initiative & problem solving skills to help both the sellers and eBay to grow.

Role Requirements

·  Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
·  In this role, the candidate will need to be a self-starter, able to manage their time and prioritise
·  He/she must be able to display initiative, and think laterally to overcome problems
·  He/she needs to be confident working with people across other eBay teams
·  Personable, able to manage and get buy in from various stakeholders at all levels across the organisation
·  Must continuously strive for high customer satisfaction
·  Must show a clear desire to deliver results
·  Candidates with first-hand experience of selling on eBay, Amazon, Facebook or other online marketplaces are preferred
·  The ideal candidate will be about to finish or have recently finished a university program, preferably in marketing or with marketing experience
·  Ecommerce or retail experience would be ideal
