Description

Responsibilities include software design, coding, testing, implementation, and support, in tightly coupled and loosely coupled IBM mainframe TPF environments.  Will perform varied TPF infrastructure engineering duties, including creation and support of various tools and processes utilized by TPF application programmers and Systems engineers performing tasks related to the implementation and support of application programs and TPF system components.  Perform design and implementation of infrastructure components required by system expansions of online TPF operating systems, and migrations of systems to z/TPF operating system levels.  Also responsible for applying and implementing IBM released system software, and implementing and supporting tools from third party vendors.  Participate in 24x7x365 oncall support of TPF infrastructure environments.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

3+ years of professional experience as a TPF Infrastructure Engineer, supporting TPF infrastructure/Development Tools components in tightly coupled and loosely coupled IBM mainframe z/TPF environments, and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, additional years of relevant professional experience .

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Strong skills and experience supporting TPF infrastructure components in tightly coupled and loosely coupled IBM mainframe zTPF environments required.  Experience with IBM mainframe VM/REXX, Shell Scripting, TPF Assembler and supporting languages defined below.  Experience with Linux, z/OS, IBM TPF products.  Strong problem solving skills, oral and written communications skills, and project management skills required.

·  Must have proficiency in zTPF Mainframe Operating and supporting systems such as VM and zLINUX.
·  in-depth knowledge and experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of various vendor /DXC specific software in multiple supported z/TPF environments,  both production and test platforms, supporting the TPF programming development cycle.
·  Knowledge in IBM products used in TPF Performance analysis support is required for active Roadmap  projects, supporting TPF Performance and Analysis Dynamic Real-Time Analysis tools.
·  Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task, and work under pressure
·  Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, or rotating shift schedules, as part of a 24x7x365 support organization as required
·  In-depth knowledge and experience in TPF Development tools, processes and procedures, operations to guarantee the uninterrupted delivery of service, performance, and availability of multiple TPF test systems, SLC programming tools required.
·  In-depth knowledge and experience in the execution of TPF jobs to meet both system maintenance and application processing requirements.
·  ability to work on a rotation basis on 1st /2nd level support for Development platform as well as ONCALL support.
·  Participate in execution of both hardware  & software related changes in the z/TPF production & supporting non-TPF environments, including hardware installations, refreshes, replacements, upgrades, decommissions, and removals, as well as  upgrades, specifically in regression validation  of existing tools/ processes.
