You’ll be joining the Benchmark and Index Control Group (BICG) within Risk which is the independent second line control function and the Risk Type Owner for benchmark risk across Deutsche Bank Group. BICG maintains an effective risk management framework comprising standards and policies, control execution and monitoring as well as analysis and reporting, building on a strong interaction with the business divisions and other control functions.

The Governance team has responsibility for defining and maintaining the Bank’s control framework for benchmarks and indices.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Monitoring changes in regulation, legislation and auditing standards that impact the processes and responsibilities around benchmark activities
·  Assessing requirements and identifying business impact, overseeing control enhancement in the business functions.
·  Collaborate with business functions to collate benchmark usage globally, ensuring completeness and accuracy of the benchmark inventory
·  Supporting the evolution of the control taxonomy and related group-wide governance structure
·  Coordinating responses to external policy consultations
·  Providing coordination of legal opinions and interpretations
·  Reviewing and revising Internal Controls documents and compliance training
·  Supporting the evolution of the non-financial risk metrics and its enhancement
·  Coordinating responses to external policy consultations

Skills & Qualifications:

·  Knowledge of Benchmark regulations (e.g., UK FCA MAR8, EU Benchmark Regulation, ESMA-EBA Principles for Benchmark-Setting Processes, IOSCO Principles for Financial Benchmarks), and involvement in designing control framework and/or implementing controls required in the regulations
·  Proven experience in working in business function, and/or understanding of business products, infrastructure and processes, as the role requires frequent interaction with the business functions, guiding and leading the functions to understand and implement/enhance control standards
·  Proven experience in managing global/regional regulatory changes, in business or control functions, e.g., Volker, MiFID, EMIR, GBSA. Ability to interpret and communicate regulatory requirements and to apply required controls in the business operation.
·  Previous experience in cross-regional and cross-functional projects with excellent project management and planning skills, as the role requires management of global and multi-functional project with critical regulatory deadline
·  Previous experience in drafting legal and or compliance documents, to document Internal Control documents and external policy consultations
·  An excellent verbal and written communicator
·  Ability to maintain attention to detail whilst working under pressure
·  A reliable team player motivated to work in a dynamic, international and diverse environment
·  Ability to effectively multitask in a fast paced environment, prioritising workload with minimal supervision
·  Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or above (or equivalent qualification / work experience)
