Advisory Intern, Accounting & Reporting Transformation

Do you have your finger on the pulse of the vast and ever-changing capital markets environment? Have a passion for current trends in accounting and finance? As an Intern within the Accounting & Reporting Transformation group at Deloitte, you’ll be part of a national team that delivers a wide range of services to our clients with a comprehensive industry-focused approach. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside leading accounting and finance leaders in addressing the strategic accounting and finance opportunities and challenges facing their businesses and the finance function. Additionally, you’ll be involved in helping advise multi-national Fortune 500 companies on responding to non-routine complex transactions, as well as providing tailored technology solutions to enable the delivery of our services to drive end-to-end solutions for our clients.

Work you’ll do
As an Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on multiple project opportunities across several industries. You’ll leverage advanced, technology-enabled solutions to help our clients more confidently make decisions to drive performance. Whether you are assisting our clients as they are preparing for a merger or divesture; dealing with non-routine complex transactions or compliance with regulations; planning to go public; implementing new and complex accounting requirements and managing through the related operational issues; assessing their controllership functions; or looking to gain transparency into their cost data, you will help our clients leverage their data assets to better manage their risks, drive business value, and achieve financial reporting compliance.

Deloitte Advisory’s Accounting and Reporting Transformation (A&RT) practice is a focused, dynamic group that provides consulting services around current trends in accounting, finance, controllership, and cost analysis. Our clients include multi-national fortune 500 companies, in many industry groups. Our clients turn to us for our deep level of industry and market expertise and the depth and breadth of knowledge within Deloitte that our teams provide.

Desired profile

Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor of Science/Business Administration with a concentration in Math required, Finance, Accounting or Business; Masters in Accounting is preferred
• Expected to be working towards a CPA, CIA, CFA, CA, CCA, CMA, CAIA, PMP or FRM certification
• Relevant work experience (e.g., internships, summer positions, school jobs)
• Demonstrated leadership and strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
• Ability to work independently and as part of team with professionals
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Willingness and ability to travel for out-of-town engagements for up to 75% of the time
Preferred
• Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.2)
