Are you seeking a Performance Engineering Internship that will provide you with the opportunity to lead projects in an open, dynamic environment?  Do you want to be empowered to improve or create methods/processes while working closely with our Leadership Team?  If yes, then Stonyfield has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering student to gain invaluable experience as an intern in our Londonderry, NH plant.

 

The dates for this internship are expected to be May 2017 to July 2017.

 

In this role, you will:

·  Learn the yogurt making process, Stonyfield company and work environment.
·  Understand the fundamental concepts of Organic farming and environmental impact of manufacturing.
·  Join meetings with Engineers/meet with operators and review current projects.

 

By the end of week 2 student will be expected to:

·  Attend meetings and have the responsibility of taking detailed meeting notes
·  Have managed and acquired necessary contacts to collect up to date project information
·  Seek out options for different mechanical parts or applications. May include independent research including contacting vendors to obtain quotations
·  Conduct data analysis including, but not limited to data trending and SPC analysis
·  Learning the daily direction-setting processes and reviewing line performance using the SIM Process (ie. Line Tours, Downtime Tracking, Losses Tracking, QAR Completion).
·  Understanding of methodology, conduct board audits and work with operators to spread greater knowledge and understanding and to identify opportunities for improvement
·  Identify and lead at least one Problem Solving Group (PSG) with a team of operators and engineers.
·  Collect baseline data, drive the improvements and identify means to trend the results/impact;
·  Report out to Plant Management weekly on project milestones and next steps
·  Conduct audits and work with operators and maintenance to spread greater knowledge and understanding and to identify opportunities for improvement

 

The ideal candidate will be/possess:

·  Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with a major in Engineering
·  Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
·  Be self-motivated, have intellectual curiosity, and work well with people at all levels of the organization
·  Ability to conduct research independently
·  Ability to read and interpret a mechanical drawing
