Role Summary/Purpose

The Logistics Specialist (SSA and ITC) will report into and support the Regional Logistics Leader (SSA (Sub Sahara Africa) and ITC-Focal (International Trade Controls)). The Logistics Specialist (SSA and ITC) will liaise with the Bid-teams, Projects, Sourcing, Engineering & Logistics Teams, primarily, to provide Trade Controls & Customs guidance and support for shipments into the Sub-Sahara Africa region.
This position will be responsible for trouble-shooting and root cause analysis for ITC.
Essential Responsibilities

In the role of Logistics Specialist – SSA & ITC, you will support the Regional Logistics Leader SSA & ITC-Focal to:

·  Resolve escalations & inquiries regarding UK exports and imports. Help the SPS & Services Logistics-teams to prepare export & import documentation (when necessary).

·  Work closely with the ITC classification team as it relates to the request & receipt of Commodity Tariff codes and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN).

·  Work closely with SPS & Services and SSA-regional locations to; guide, advise and train operational-Logistics skills development in international-trade.

·  Work closely with SPS & Services and SSA-regional locations to; guide, advise and train on matters of country-of-origin and Certificates Of Origin for items so that BHGE is compliant and can take advantage of preferential trade agreements (when applicable).

·  Support the UK and SSA-region (internal locations) with establishing standard requirements for shipment documentation, both import & export. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data with customs brokers and internal-function operational interaction in matters of International Trade Controls.

·  Support the UK & SSA-regional Logistics-operations teams to ensure adequate document retention to support compliance with government agencies and international trade regulations. When necessary, assist Legal Counsel (TAX & ITC), Logistics, Sourcing, Engineering, Projects and Commercial-sales.

·  Support the ITC-Focal to coordinate & facilitate the acquisition of export and import licenses in close coordination with BHGE ITC regional and product company leaders.

·  Support the UK & SSA Logistics teams to resolve operational & transactional issues relating to the clearance of shipped goods.

·  Conduct Monthly & periodic reviews of Customs & ITC operations & monitoring reports and support BHGE-ITC audits & provide data for management reports.

·  Support the Regional Logistics Leader - SSA & ITC-Focal at meetings & audit-reviews and act as the secondary point of contact for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Knowledge & experience within Logistics/Supply Chain/ITC (including Incoterms)

·  Knowledge & experience of shipping and customs for importation and exportation of goods

·  Well organised and must be capable of decision making, prioritising and multi-tasking, and working to agreed schedules and targets

·  Experience with hands-on information gathering, analysis and management reporting

·  Experience using PC-based trade compliance systems and trade content services

·  Must also have a flexible approach to the workload

·  Ability to communicate with ease with various levels of leadership and work with others on matters of compliance

·  Likes to take the lead and own issues through to completion
