About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity at our Liverpool Supply Point in the role of Junior Management Accountant to join our Finance team. 

 

This role is essential to support the Senior Business Controller with managing the accounting for materials within the business, whilst as acting as business partner to the organisation providing support and analysis to both Finance and non-Finance managers. The JBC will be autonomous in their working pattern and Initiate continuous improvement processes within and outside the accounting function.

Key accountabilities, deliverables & KPIs, impact on business results

 

 Support the business during the planning cycle (Budget, Rolling Forecast, Period end Close, Strategic Analysis and Cost Prices) in relation to material costs such as:

·  Complete thorough analysis of Price variances, material losses, production volumes and write off costs.
·  Pro-actively review and analyse operating performance versus plan (Actual vs Forecast(s)).
·  Identification of risks and opportunities with ability to effectively communicate them to the Senior Business Controller and work on necessary action plans.
·  Key support to forecasting and analysing material costs.
·  Manage material cost journals and accruals based on knowledge of the business.
·  Production of Monthly Management Reports for material costs.
·  Calculation of cost prices of finished goods and the transfer prices.
·  Support in costings for trials and new product business cases.
·  Supporting preparation of financial analyses for investment decisions, makes scenario calculations and contributes to site master plan.
·  Networking (PLT (Board of Directors), Divisional Controlling, Central Business Services Finance, Sourcing
·  Represent and replace the Finance Manager during absence.
·  Mentor & support with team apprentice.

 

Critical experience required:

 

·  Degree preferred. New to an institution or part qualified accountant, studying CIMA or equivalent
·  Expert MS Excel skills
·  Excellent data management skills, with the ability to handle, manipulate and merge large, complex data sets 
·  Excellent communication skills
·  Confidence to share ideas
·  A collaborative, team working approach
·  Problem solving skills
·  A continuous improvement mind-set to question and improve current working practices
·   Attention to detail and able to provide accurate analysis
·   Excellent time management, organisation and planning skills
·  Self-motivated, able to demonstrate commitment and ownership of personal and professional development.
