Job description

SMG IT is looking for an Application Developer to work directly with the US Desk of the Systematic Market-making business. The main area will be on Risk Management applications, which covers all major SMG Strategies running in US and Canada. The main responsibilities will include:

· Development, support and maintenance of Market Access Rule Engine – US based Risk Monitoring Application, including price feed and Client Notification applications
· Development for production release and support processes
· System performance statistics gathering and reporting
· Support key trading applications in a transparent and proactive manner
· Occasional evening/weekend support requirements (normally, through remote access)

Desired profile

The successful candidate will have a Computer Science degree or equivalent, and possess in depth knowledge and experience of developing in C++. A solid background in Linux is a must.

Skill set:

·  Solid OOP skills in C++, multithreading and IPC are essential
·  Solid Linux OS and scripting ( eg Perl or Python ) experience essential
·  Relational database skills ( eg ORACLE ) essential
·  Knowledge of market data feed handlers and execution feeds highly desirable
·  Knowledge of Equities and Futures asset classes desirable
·  Proactive mentality essential
·  Good communication skills essential
