Job description

During your traineeship you will establish your network in the global Covestro organization regarding specific topics such as sustainability, flame retardancy, composites, etc. From the beginning and during your 24months employment in different regions, business units and functions in our headquarters and foreign subsidiaries you will take over exciting fields of activity:

• Support and lead new, interdisciplinary projects/studies under guidance of your mentor/manager
• Responsibility for technical equipment and devices including investment planning
• Ensure compliance with applicable guidelines for laboratory safety
• Conceptualization, implementation and evaluation of studies/experiments as well as interpretation of the results by presenting them to diverse committees
• Coordination of studies in close consultation with internal functions
• Conceptualization as well as continuous further development and optimization of methods, models and processes

• Superior university degree in natural sciences with subsequent promotion in the area of chemistry, materials science or engineering, ideally followed by a post doctorate in an internationally accredited institution
• Experience through business specific, preferably international, internships or studies abroad appreciated
• First leadership experience guiding technical employees as well as graduate students and/or doctoral candidates
• Open-minded and assertive personality
• Ability to work in a team as well as flexibility and mobility for international postings within the Covestro group
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, German skills would be advantageous
