Software Engineer. Continental Automotive Systems, Inc. (Auburn Hills, MI.) In the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) business unit, plan algorithm development with MS Project and electronic Project Status Review tools and track algorithm development in customer projects with IMS. Analyze functional issues with MTS. Develop improved algorithm logic with Matlab and Visual Studio in C and C++. Validate algorithm functionality in an automated way with Python. Analyze customer functional requirements and determine appropriate test metrics for the product’s software algorithm domain. Negotiate functional requirements with customer and manage requirements in DOORS. Establish project timing, work packages, due dates, and track delivery progress for algorithm project team, including remote locations. Create algorithms/software release candidates for in-vehicle testing. Train project team on algorithms’ expected functional behavior. Support vehicle validation team to develop test cases. Redesign algorithm and simulation architecture to improve efficiency of issue debugging and to improve product performance. Present design changes to customer and coordinate required testing to implement changes. Participate in test trips as directed by the customer. Release algorithm delivery in Continental ADAS Material Life Cycle process using MKS, Review Tool, and eSign.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics or equivalent. Requires two (2) years managing software releases for embedded automotive products in series production to include two (2) years: project management using tools like MS Project; Requirements management tools such as Doors and MS Office; Issue tracking tools such as IMS and Issue Tracker; Configuration Management tools such as IMS, PVCS, Git, SVN; vehicle control strategies; automotive v-cycle; product validation; interfacing technically with customers; and computer programming skills such as C, C++, Python and Matlab.
