IT Technician

Summary

Staff member dedicated onsite technical resource to maintain Continental’s client computing environment. The ideal candidate has strong customer service and problem solving skills related to supporting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, applications and services. Responsibilities will include local and remote support of customer base answering questions from customers and providing problem resolution in a timely and effective manner. The IT Support Technician will be responsible for all activities related to the maintenance of the Continental standard client environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Day to Day operations, responding to support requests and technical issues via E¬Mail, phone and other electronic medium such as the Continental Incident Management System.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to client systems, applications, peripherals and remote connectivity.
• Maintain client environment to Continental standards, utilizing management tools like LANDesk, HPAM, AD, and HPSM
• Desktop / Laptop break/fix with vendor support
• Refresh desktop / laptop computers per refresh schedule
• Assist with the support with guidance from Infrastructure team of: Manufacturing Applications
o Server Applications and Servers
o Network Security
o LAN/WAN/WLAN
o Peripherals

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED and or Associates Degree (IT related)
• 3 + years IT-professional helpdesk experience
• Good Problem Solving and strong Customer Service
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes
• Microsoft Windows XP, 7, 8.1, 10
• All connectivity options; VPN, WIFI, LAN/WAN, Cellular, “HotSpots”
• Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.
• Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
• Experience with hardware and software issue resolution.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in communication / internet related protocols / applications such as VPN, Wireless including Cellular, LAN/WAN, Cisco VPN Client, iPass, and Lotus Notes.
