Overview:
The Active Safety/ Automated Driving Algorithm Engineer will be responsible for the development of Automated Driving & ContiGuard® system algorithms for the North American market. ContiGuard® is the next level of driving safety technology, as it integrates active and passive safety systems, enhanced by vehicle surrounding sensors and their coordinated interaction. The scope of work will span much of Continental’s safety systems architecture, including algorithm development for vehicle motion planning and control functions.

Core Responsibilities:
• Development of complete vehicle control systems, from the proof of concept phase through the first customer application.
• Assure the successful realization of project activities within the given time frame.
• Development of active safety and automated driving situation analysis and interpretation algorithms.
• Development of motion planning and control algorithms.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development of vehicle environmental models including the use of computer vision / image processing.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline
• Expertise with C/C++, Matlab/Simulink, and embedded control systems
• Capable of traveling both domestically and internationally
• Fluency in the English language (written and verbal)
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Electrical/Software/Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Controls Engineering.
• German language skills.
• Expertise in digital signal processing.
• Expertise in development of computer vision / image processing algorithms for embedded systems.
• Expertise in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning
• Exposure/experience in the automotive research and development field.
• Pronounced experience in vehicle control systems calibration.
