Job description

The internship program will allow you to apply the skills in the Managed Service industry but also acquire a range of abilities to contribute to the business whilst working alongside industry professional.
As an intern within the Technology function you will contribute to a challenging Information Technology and Systems agenda. This will involve engaging with colleagues from across the business, using your analytical, relationship building and influencing skills to support the implementation and engagement of key projects & tasks. We are looking for talented individuals with strong problem solving capabilities, excellent communication skills and a willingness to support the delivery of great solutions.
Throughout this scheme, your training and development won’t stop. You’ll attend sessions designed to hone your soft skills, and you’ll have the support of your line manager and a buddy. Through ongoing appraisals and feedback processes, you’ll drive your career. As a valued part of the team, we’ll expect you to give your insight and opinion, and make a real contribution to our business.

Desired profile

Skills & Knowledge:

• Knowledge of a Linux OS (Doesn't matter which Linux/Unix flavour)
• TCP/IP & DNS
• Customer care skills (written, phone and facing)
• Voice / VOIP fundamentals
• Basic Network troubleshooting
• Microsoft Server Platforms (Not essential but be able to pick this up)
• A broad technical knowledge encompassing Networking, PCs, peripherals and their architecture knowledge of Help Desk systems, activities and management – not essential.

You must be able to work as part of a team in a dynamic environment and to ability to multi-task is desirable.

Qualifications and experience:

• Technology or IT would be preferred but not critical
• Minimum 2.1 degree or equivalent
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package.
• A pro-active self-starter able to work with the minimum supervision.
• Attention to detail.
• Professional approach.
• Resilient when working under pressure.
• Ability to prioritise tasks.
• Teamwork ethic essential.
• Excellent communicator at all levels.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Working Hours

9 am – 5:30pm Monday to Friday with 1 hour for lunch
The role is a Graduate Systems Engineer position, where you will provide a support role to internal and external customers. In return you will be exposed to many different kinds of technology, and applications. You will also have the opportunity to work in a fast growing organisation.

This role is will enhance your technical skills and provide you with a strong grounding in technology.
Connect will be providing hands-on experience and should you impress us, there is always the possibility of a permanent role.
