Poste et missions:
Background: The Films and Coatings group of AFF develops innovative protective and optical grade substrates used in electronics, aerospace, pharma and automotive industries. The successful candidate will utilize his/her technical background in material science to help the team create new solutions with breakthrough performance.
Responsibilities include:
Understand and communicate key findings from published literature relating to novel films and film processing techniques with class leading mechanical or barrier performance
Carry out trials to develop proof of concept samples that demonstrate unique properties. Conceptualize, develop, and refine novel trials to produce proof of concept samples for evaluation.
Support project goals and objectives. Propose new objectives and gather agreement on new ideas from team members and stakeholders.
Clearly communicate technical issues, approaches, and results in technical reports and presentations
Major tasks of the VIE:
Design and make prototypes of new thin film or coating structures.
Characterize mechanical and permeation performance with laboratory instruments
Profil:
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Background: Polymer chemistry preferred, materials or mechanical engineering background helpful
Fluent in English
Open-minded, shows initiative
Good mechanical skills and working in a hands-on environment with attention to detail
Comfortable working in both a lab and production setting
Equally comfortable learning and teaching.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
MS Polymer Science or in Materials/Mechanical Engineering
