Poste et missions:
Background: the Acoustics R&D Platform of CertainTeed develops innovative acoustical solutions for buildings. The successful candidate will utilize his/her technical background in acoustical materials, structures, and assemblies to create new solutions with breakthrough performance.
Responsibilities include:
- Understand and communicate key findings from published literature relating to novel acoustical material structures
- Conceptualize, develop, and refine novel acoustical materials and structures that balance performance and cost
- Support project goals and objectives. Propose new objectives and gather agreement on new ideas from team members and stakeholders.
- Clearly communicate technical issues, approaches, and results in technical reports and presentations
Major tasks of the VIE:
1.Design and make prototypes of new acoustical material structures (e.g. foams, lattices, honeycombs, composites, etc.)
2.Characterize acoustical performance with laboratory instruments
3.Perform theoretical calculations with analytical models or numerical simulation software
Profil:
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Background: acoustical materials and assemblies
- Fluent in English
- Open-minded, takes initiatives
- Likes handwork with attention to detail
- Knowledge of simulation software COMSOL and AlphaCell are a plus
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- MS in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Physics
