Job description

As a small indie press, we publish in a wide range of genres, fiction and non-fiction, from very commercial to less so. Claret Press is based in Clapham Old Town.

We're looking for a Social Media & Marketing Assistant for an immediate start (16 hours a week) until Easter. We operate from 9AM to 5PM Monday to Friday, and we ask that you be able to commit two days a week. Flexibility on hours and location, with the potential to work from home on occasions.

We will provide:

- complete immersion in the in-house publishing trade

You will need:
- an interest in various social media platforms and an understanding of how to use them
- an understanding of SEO
- an interest in literature or creative writing
- a self-starter attitude
- excellent grammar and spelling
- excellent computer and organizational skills
- to be self-disciplined
- photoshop and photography skills

tasks include:
- setting up marketing campaigns
- organizing events
- doing social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook)
- setting up social media campaigns
- meeting authors

Previous work experience is preferred but not required.

This position is currently unpaid, and is best suited for someone who is looking to use and develop their skills within a small team.
