CONTEXT :

The Industrial IT and Automation Engineering teams support the machinery, hardware and systems that underpin the manufacturing process in the Wexford supply point.
Particular role is engage and support activities within the Industrial IT and Automation Engineering teams, specifically targeting our Productivity and Digital transformation programmes for 2020/2021, towards Industry 4.0
The V.I.E is an international programme for young professionals between 18 and 28 years old, who have EU nationality; in addition the candidate can't come from the country hosting the mission

YOUR MISSION

Must support the IT and automation engineering teams in the installation of hardware, software, network and other systems during the implementation of our digital journey.
Contributing to product and infrastructure support/architecture documentation
Contributing to Digital 4.0 programme delivery – the goal is to move all paper processes to digital and to implement innovative digital and automation solutions
Must troubleshoot issues with PLC-based industrial machinery and equipment like printers, scanners, computers and servers
Researching potential solutions and creating proposals on pricing and system options
Ensure resolution of and/or appropriate escalation of issues
Participating in the development of new network configuration, workstations, servers or applications
Assisting in the ordering, receiving, storage, deployment and retirement of IT assets
Carrying out analysis of and monitoring/reporting trends in system bugs or issues
Ability to assist users with Industrial-specific and bespoke software
Working as part of an Agile team to understand feature requirements for projects
Inputting into product design and testing product features
Some attendance at update meetings and presenting to management

YOUR PROFILE

The candidate must be in pursuit or have a degree in computer science, information technology or engineering
Some education/experience in hardware, networking, programming, database management and technologies like Microsoft Operating systems, MS SQL, PLCs and SCADA and communications protocols.
Problem solving ability, with broad business knowledge and the ability to link customer needs with technical solutions
Must take direction well and be a motivated self-starter
Must be open and excited to learn new technologies, especially in the industrial landscape
Must have strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Must be customer service-oriented and learn techniques to best serve clients.
Needs strong analytic and problem-solving skills
Good organisation and planning skills
