Flexcity, owned by VEOLIA, is a technological scale up company working in the energy sector on Demand Side Management (DSM) as aggregator. They are active in Belgium, France, Netherlands, Italy and Spain and entering new countries
Flexcity is looking for a Technical Sales.
The concerned project aims at reinforcing Flexcity’s presence in Belgium by building a portfolio an innovative distributed energy service, balancing the variable production profile of renewable energy sources. It is our mission to contribute to the energy transition towards a smart grid.

Main responsibilities:

In Belgium the energy markets are more and more opened for new actors. Traditionally certain markets could only be accessed by companies having large centralized powerplants as gas fired powerplants. One of the last markets to be opened is the balancing market (R2 – aFRR product). This will happen in July 2020. Flexcity ambitions to be an important actor after the opening of the market with a pool of decentralized assets. The concerned project’s goal is to target the potential candidates in the French speaking part of Belgium, explain them the new market opportunity, help identifying the flexibility potential and commercially support flexibility provider to use Flexcity’s services.

The technical sales will be in charge of:

-Identify companies which could deliver this innovative service to the Flexcity pool.

-Take contact with these companies in order to investigate the potential of the site.
(A market analyst will be available for guidance)

-Understand and present the aFRR product and assist to draft a commercial proposal

-Follow up of the flexibility provider until contract signature and integration in the pool

Profile Required:
Educational background: Master in engineering, or science preferably with energy background , mathematics or physics
Previous experience: Commercial experience is a plus

Skills: Analytical reasoning, good communication skills
Languages : French and English
Length of the assignment : 12 months
