I. Presentation of the organisation
The Conference of Peripheral and Maritime Regions of Europe (CPMR - www.cpmr.org) is a pan European Association of 160 Regional authorities from 28 States (within the EU and beyond ). It operates both as a think tank and as a lobby for Regions, with a unique internal structure subdivided into six Geographical Commissions corresponding to the EU maritime basins. The CPMR is active in a number of policy areas including maritime affairs, cohesion, accessibility ,Climate and Migration among others). (include the web site)

II. Job Summary
The Project Officer will be working in close collaboration with the other project officers and the CPMR communication team, particularly supporting the implementation (and possibly the drafting) of EU cooperation projects. The position will also foresee the support to other related CPMR communication activities.

III. Main responsibilities
The main responsibilities and tasks consist in ensuring the day-to-day management of two ongoing projects (one Interreg Atlantic Area and one Interreg Europe), including:
• Contribute to the coordination and daily implementation of two cooperation projects on innovation in the seafood sector and attractiveness of territories located close to metropolitan areas through soft digitalisation measures
• Support the identification of calls for proposals that are strategic to the CPMR activities (Working Groups, Task Forces, etc.) and to the drafting of specific new projects applications
• Report to the Senior EU Programmes Officer and projects team and through periodical or ad hoc briefing notes and updates
• Monitoring the activities of European institutions and actors in relevant fields;
• Liaising, as necessary, with project partners and representatives from the EU Institutions to capitalise on the projects
• Frequent travel within Europe are foreseen
The Project Officer will be providing residual support to other projects in which the organization is involved and be flexible to adapt to the needs of the organization.

IV. Tasks and duties
• Ensure the smooth running of the two main cooperation projects that will be assigned to this position and related activities
• Relate efficiently with team members, projects partners and other parties
• Report to and constantly coordinate with the CPMR Senior EU Programmes Officer/Directorate on EU programmes, and relevant Executive Secretaries and Project Officers on the development of projects’ activities
• Report to the CPMR financial department on projects’ budget elaboration and implementation
• Performing communication tasks related to the two projects and, when doing so, liaising with the CPMR Communication team
• Actively support the connection between the projects related activities and the overall CPMR action contributing to its advocacy efforts and improving relation with member regions
• Monitor funding opportunities in the CPMR areas of interest and contribute to new project drafting
• Represent the CPMR during external events, organised by projects partners and funders mainly, as necessary

V. Qualifications and skills required
• Working fluency in English and French (native or near-native language level) is an essential prerequisite
• Knowledge of at least another European language is a strong asset
• A Master’s degree in a relevant field (European affairs, International relations, Territorial and or decentralized cooperation, Project management, Maritime affairs etc.)
• At least a 6 month of experience in EU cooperation programmes/projects, especially territorial cooperation, with a focus on Interreg among other programmes of interest (ENI CBC, Europeaid, H2020 etc.)
• Knowledge of territorial cooperation dynamics and on the functioning of territorial cooperation programmes in particular is key
• Previous experience (including project or programme management) for - or in close relation - with local and regional authorities will be especially valued
• General knowledge of one or the two topics covered by the two projects
• Interest in one or several of the following thematic fields will be a plus: sustainable maritime and coastal tourism, marine renewable energies, blue skills and biodiversity protection, etc.
• Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, resilience, autonomy and sense of responsibility in task delivery, dynamism and high predisposition for team work in a multilingual context

The position is based in Brussels

VII. Terms of recruitment
