SURF systems (umbilicals, risers and subsea pipelines)

Subsea 7 provides design, fabrication, installation and commissioning services for the development of subsea fields.

Field management

We master all services related to the life and management of subsea fields, including inspection, maintenance and repair.

Conventional

Conventional services include the fabrication and installation of shallow water fixed platforms and associated shallow water pipelines.

We also have a hook-up revamping business, which is the renovation, reinforcement and modification of platforms.

Renewable Energy :

In addition to their traditional applications, there are many opportunities to use our know-how, especially in the field of renewable energies through our joint venture with Seaway 7.

Poste et missions:
1. DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION
• The Methods Engineer is in charge of developing methodologies necessary to Yard specific operations. In that aim, he issues calculation notes, methodology drawings and procedures necessary to the good operation/fabrication sequences.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Resources

• Support engineering office method assistant and draftmen.
• Ensure that the rigging supervisors and rigging teams comply with the approved methodologies and procedures in operations. Assist the Rigging Department in carrying out operations.

Budgets
• Follow-up rigging materials and initiate renewal of stocks.

Procedures & process
• Comply with group HSE rules and procedures in all methods deliverable and in the performance of site operations covered by these deliverables.
• Issue calculation note, methodology procedure for weighing/skidding/loadout operations.
• Issue calculation notes, methodology procedures for lifting operation and verify structural integrity while load is under lifting.
• Issue lifting plans for all loads above 10t.
• Issue lifting plans for certification of lifting equipment or lifting apparatus.
• Participate in methods review meetings by Clients, support Sonamet project Engineers in submitting Methods project required documents.
• Follow-up and update list of certified rigging materials and list of certified operators. Organise and set up certification process.
• Update and issue Yard layout occupation plan, crane and lifting equipment planning and quay occupation planning and arrangement in close coordination with the fabrication Yard Manager.

Fabrication
• Attending lifting and load operations assist Rigging Supervisor in the good performance of the operations covered by methods deliverables.
• Coordinate de barges/vessels movement at quayside upon fabrication Yard Manager Information.
• Support Fabrication Manager and plant Manager in the preparation of skidding/loadout operations.
• Ensure at all time rigging operations are performed as per safety rules and within safety conditions. Liaise with safety Department to tackle safety issues in preparing and performing lifting operations.

3. AUTHORITY/DIMENSIONS

• The Yard Methods Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager. He will submit for approval to base Manager all requests having cost implications and all work procedure/drawings to be part of the Yard rule and procedure database.

4. INTERFACES

Internal
• The Methods Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager.
• The Methods Engineer control and manages all operations carried out by rigging department.
• The Method Engineer assists engineering team dedicated to methods engineering works.
• The Method engineering assist project Fabrication Engineers in providing methods deliverables required during the course of the projects.
• The methods Engineer assist Plant Manager in lifting equipment certification process.
• The methods Engineer liaise with the Structural Engineer for non standard structural analysis

External
• The Methods Engineer participates in Clients methods reviews as per project needs.
• The Method Engineer set-up intervention of certification bodies as per due requirement.

5. WORKING CONDITIONS

• The position is based in Lobito at Sonamet Yard.

Profil:

CAPABILITY PROFILE – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS

• High School Graduate (Mechanical, Engineering or General)
• Experience in structural engineering is a plus
• English speaking
