1. Position Summary

The main responsibility of the Transversal Service Reliability Engineer is to participate in the successful delivery of all Amadeus services with agreed Service Level Agreements to our customers by leveraging and improving services that automate application resiliency and stability and manage the underlying infrastructure as a service (all layers, from compute to storage, including network).

The goal of the Transversal Service Reliability Engineer will be to accelerate Application teams’ ability to reliably and consistently operate applications on the highest Stability and Security levels.

Other responsibilities include the analysis and resolution of ongoing issues in processes of capacity planning, change management, problem management, incident management, release management, performance improvement and automation/tool development.

The Transversal Service Reliability Engineer is expected to excel under pressure, multi-task, work well with others, be self-motivated, and be able to deliver on short and long term projects. Implementing automation for kick starting, monitoring, management, and support will be a key component of the position.

The Transversal Service Reliability Engineer will actively interface with software developers, network engineers, systems, storage, project management and database administrators on Incidents, Problem Management reviews and projects. Providing second tier oncall support will be required to ensure a 24x7 coverage. You will be able to identify root cause, troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively, most times under pressure. Good communication and teamwork is extremely important.

2. Job Duties

Application Support (55%)

• Support an ultra-highly available cloud-based applicative platform for Amadeus customers.

• Resolve application deficiencies and detect resiliency gaps

• Operate the platform within our security and privacy guidelines.

• Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack - hardware, software, application, and network.

Continous Improvement (20%)

• Drive and use monitoring tools to find problems, resolve and/or escalate to development and ensure that we exceed our Service Level Agreements • Collaborate in thought leadership for creative and efficient technology solutions. • Participate in continuous improvements to the service delivered to customer (agility, stability).

Service Automation (15%)

• Participate in the design and building of tools and processes to support the infrastructure and its services. Leverage scripting to build required automation and tools on an ad-hoc basis.

Team Evolution (10%)

• Learn on the job and explore new technologies with little supervision • Ability to explore a wide variety of open source technologies and tools.

3. Qualifications/Experience

Education

4 year University degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering or equivalent work experience.

Relevant work experience

Minimum 2-5 years in S ystems Administration/Software Engineering/DevOps, networking in a large environment.

Minimum 3 years experience of application build and release engineering in SOA architectures.

Business understanding

Basic understanding of Amadeus Services and the impact of Service Interruptions to Business in severity and exposure
