Position Description

CGI are recruiting for a User Experience (UX) developer to work on an application migration development programme carried out under the management of a Scrum Master. Given this role sits within a public sector customer, the work is both rewarding and meaningful, will have immediate impact and form an important function into bringing legacy application into the new digital world.

Due to the secure nature of the work, all candidates must be able to obtain UK SC clearance.

Your future duties and responsibilities
The User Experience developer will be adept at working on legacy applications as this role focuses on redeveloping the look, feel, functionality and technology behind applications change.

Also you will be work as part of a tight-knit team of professionals comprising Business Analysts, UX designers, Back-end Developers, DevOps, Agile and Scrum team members, thus confident and clear communication skills, a presentable demeanour and client-facing attributes are key.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The successful candidate will be an experienced User Experience developer, accustomed to working on legacy technology applications and aware of new technologies.

The successful candidate will offer a range of technical expertise, of particular interest is front-end design, REST API, code versioning tools, platforms, JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5, Bootstrap, JQuery, NodeJS, Ajax, AngularJS, Grant, Karmar, Moca, Chai, Selenium and Code refactoring.
Solid experience should be underpinned by a good understanding of best practices in UX/Front End design and ability to work closely with UX interaction designer and back-end developers.

An understanding Java, struts, Jboss is also required.

The successful candidate should be adept in the creation of scoping of documentation, ability to work in tightknit group based on wireframes and roadmaps and be primarily customer/user facing.

Any familiarity with Agile methods (particularly Scrum) is advantageous.
