Position Description

CGI are looking for new members to work on exciting projects in the satellite communications and aviation sectors who have enthusiasm and experience in key skills such as security infrastructure, software and networking. We are currently recruiting a Test Lead to work on a programme which is developing the satellite-based controller/pilot datalink required to support future air traffic management communications.
Your Future Duties and Responsibilities
Skills required
Essential skills
• Experience of the Testing Lifecycle
• Testing and debugging network protocols, e.g. OSI and IPv4/IPv6
• Test Case/Procedure preparation and management
• Test execution and capture/investigation of failures
• Using an observation reporting tool, e.g. Trac
• Good verbal and written skills
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• At least 2 years’ experience working in a team lead/mentor position
Highly desirable skills
• Linux, Windows and scripting languages such as Python and Perl
• Quick learner, ability to learn complex systems and a range of testing tools
• Cryptographic / Security experience, e.g. firewalls, PKI
• Software system assembly, integration and configuration management
• Experience of User Acceptance Testing
Nice to have
• ISEB/ISTQB qualified
• Knowledge of Aircraft security (e.g. ED-202 and ED-203)
Role is full time in Leatherhead. You need to be SC Clearable. Your future duties and responsibilities
CGI has been selected to develop key safety and security features and is responsible for developing ground-based gateways that will enable the system to interface with the European ATM network and incorporate security measures to protect the over-the-air communications link from cyber attack. The enhanced system will undergo rigorous validation and verification tests to assure that safety and security requirements are met, before entering further rounds of flight trials. CGI is also supporting the construction of the certification case for system approval with the European regulator, EASA. This involves system and segment level safety assessments/analysis and standards-based product assurance to the required integrity levels.
The Test Lead role will suit someone with hands-on experience of the Software Testing Lifecycle in a rigorous and structured environment. Candidates should be capable of quickly picking up new concepts, working to high standards of quality and meeting agreed timescales. The Test Lead will be expected to work with other team leads to identify the approach for each test campaign and create test plans to achieve project deadlines. The role also involves producing written reports on test progress, both internal and client-facing. Required qualifications to be successful in this role
