Systems Engineer

Position Description
CGI Federal is seeking a Systems Engineer supporting the Apache Attack Helicopter Program Management Office (AAH-PMO) based in the Huntsville, Alabama area.
An ideal candidate for this position must be able to work independently, often acting without direct supervision, be self-motivated, and able to build strong relationships across multiple project offices with all levels of government employees. Strong interpersonal skills are a must to facilitate coordination with configuration management, contracts, outside contractors/vendors, engineers, and project/program leadership.

Your future duties and responsibilities
A Bachelor’s degrees plus ten (10) years of professional experience is required.
Candidates should also have the following:
• Work experience in a Project/Program Management Office is desired
• Knowledge of contract requirements and documents (e.g.: Statements of Work, Integrated Master Schedules) is required
• Experience working on Army Aviation development programs is desired
• Work experience with the Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS)
• Ability to manage development and engineering projects; work effectively with others and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to identify, develop and maintain system component requirements
• Possess an active DoD Security Clearance
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% Job Duties:
• Serve as Project/Systems Engineer for Avionics/Mission Equipment for the Apache helicopter
• Support avionics integration leads to manage prime contractor performance to meet technical requirements, develop program plans and cost/budget and schedule estimates
• Collaborate with the aircraft OEM contractor and Aviation Mission Planning System (AMPS) program and technical leads to ensure the integration/interfaces on the aircraft are identified, defined, scheduled, resourced and executed
• Coordinate technical positions with Government airworthiness and test evaluation organizations to define and measure the program path to secure airworthiness qualification and safety confirmation of changed and new configurations
• Coordinate with other Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) on other air vehicle teams to ensure optimum integration of the engineering segments with each other
• Work with a diverse group of Government, support contractor and OEM technical and subject matter experts to meet PM Apache goals and objectives.
• An active SECRET clearance is required.
