Job Title: Sysbase Database Administrator

Position: Senior Systems Engineer

Experience: 7+ yrs

Employment Type: Full Time

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

Position Description
4–7 years of hands-on experience as a Sybase DBA.
Monitor system health, identify performance bottlenecks, optimize SQL queries, and manage indexes in Sybase
Develop and execute comprehensive backup, restoration, and disaster recovery strategies (BCP/DR).
Setup and troubleshoot Sybase Replication Server and Warm Standby solutions.
Apply security patches, manage user access, and perform database upgrades.
Provide 24x7 support for production databases, addressing corruption issues and performance bottlenecks.
Utilize Shell, Perl, or Python scripting to automate routine DBA tasks.
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Willing to work in shifts

Clear and fluent English (both verbal and written)
Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships with remote teams
Demonstrate ability to take ownership of and accountability for relevant products and services
Ability to plan, prioritize and complete your own work, whilst remaining a team player
Willingness to engage with and work in other technologies
