Position Description:

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with expertise in Databricks and Apache Spark on cloud platforms (especially AWS) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Databricks, Spark, Python & SQL, strong AWS and CI/CD know-how, real-time streaming (Kafka) and ETL expertise, along with a mindset that loves solving tough problems. Leadership qualities a plus as you will be mentoring junior engineers, participating in code reviews, and contributing to best practices. The focus on real-time ingestion and streaming use cases puts you at the heart of a modern data stack that's powering next-gen analytics.

This role is located in either Miramar, FL or Dallas, TX. A hybrid working model in these locations is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark. Optimize big data workflows to improve performance and reduce processing times.
• Architect and implement scalable data solutions on cloud platforms
• Ensure data quality and governance by implementing best practices and frameworks.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and support.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms and tools, particularly AWS, Databricks.
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL pipelines, and data orchestration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD process, change process to promote the code to different environments.
• Experience with real-time data ingestion and streaming using tools like Apache Kafka.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to document processes and frameworks clearly for future reference. Timeliness, accuracy, and professionalism
• Mentorship: Ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members.

Soft Skills: Self-starter and capable of working without close supervision.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $99,200.00 - $173,500.00.
