CGI’s Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit, focuses primarily on the delivery of contemporary and innovative technical solutions for the government agencies most challenging problems. We are currently looking for an experienced software engineers to join our cross-functional team who, in partnership with our clients, will help define, guide and assure the delivery of integrated solutions. Our roles are only available if you hold a UK Security Clearance and are a sole UK National due to the secure nature of the project. You will either hold a higher level clearance or be willing to obtain it. Any individual without security clearance is welcome to apply and will always be considered for this or wider opportunities in CGI, where appropriate.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team for a cloud based big data project. This role will focus on the design development and delivery of a software implementation, configuration of software improvements, maintaining deployment environments, and supporting changes to live systems when needed. We are looking for candidates with a positive problem solving attitude who can adapt to client problems as required.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

We are looking for candidates with experience in a selection of the following technologies and tools:

Programming Languages: Java, Python, JavaScript (including TypeScript), Go

Frontend Frameworks: Vue.js

Scripting & Automation: Bash, Ansible

DevOps & CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform

Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS

Testing & Quality: Cucumber, SonarQube

Monitoring & Logging: ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Grafana

Dataflow & Integration: Apache NiFi

Experience across multiple areas is desirable; we don’t expect you to know everything but a willingness to learn and contribute across the stack is key.
