Position Description
SharePoint Developer - Leatherhead

Military personnel trust and rely on us for large, complex, secure programmes – from the back office to frontline operations.We are looking for a Sharepoint Developer to join one of our key projects which involves the design, implementation and support of an upgrade the current Database and implement new technology and processes into the Joint Electronic Warfare (EW) Operational Support Centre (JEWOSC) operations. CGI is the Prime contractor which brings together key industry partners providing specialist expertise and product sets. CGI has overall responsibility for the project management, system design, build, integration and support activities.
There are four basic elements to the solution:

• A new database to store and manipulate the high volumes and numerous types of complex, classified data that need to be managed (MASS);

• A common suite of state-of-the-art EW Operational Support (EWOS) applications to enable the visualisation and manipulation of both generic and equipment-specific data, including platforms and complex emitters (SRC);

• A web portal (CGI);

• A new management reporting, process management and workflow layer to provide end-to-end business integration and control across the enterprise (CGI).
This role is as part of the development team concerned with the developing the portal, which is based around SharePoint and consumes data provided by the SOA service layer. Your future duties and responsibilities
You will be involved in the following
• Implementing and testing new pages, forms and related features;
• Updating existing pages and forms to add new functionality;
• Working closely with the SOA service developers to integrate the portal with the service
layer
• Supporting the integration of the solution in the Team Excalibur test environment;
• Performing peer code reviews Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Experience of SharePoint 2010 development (at least a year’s recent experience)
• Knowledge of team sites and publishing sites
• Building master pages, page layouts and web templates
• Visual Studio 2010
• Strong knowledge of C# including ASP .Net
• Experience building custom controls, web parts and .aspx forms
• JQuery
• CSS
• Quick learner, able to understand both the solution and the domain
• UK National and either have existing or be cleanable to SC or higher level

• Design patterns, especially MVP
• PowerShell
• JavaScript
• Ajax
• DHTMLX grid and tree controls
• WCF
• Jenkins
• FAST Search for SharePoint configuration, building search connectors to index custom
