We are looking for a Senior UNIX Specialist to join our dynamic IT infrastructure team.

Your role in our team
As a Senior Unix Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Unix/Linux environments within our organization. You will play a crucial role in optimizing our infrastructure, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our systems. You will work closely with other IT specialists and teams to continuously improve and maintain our IT services.

Key Responsibilities:
• System Administration and Maintenance: Oversee the daily administration of Unix/Linux systems, particularly Red Hat and Oracle Linux, utilizing automation tools such as Ansible.
• System Optimization: Optimize system performance and capacity while implementing best practices for security and maintenance.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Use Zabbix for monitoring system performance, identifying issues, and implementing solutions.
• Automation: Design and implement automated processes using Ansible to efficiently manage systems and perform updates.
• Support: Provide technical support for Unix/Linux environments, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and guidelines for Unix/Linux system management.
• Project Management: Lead or participate in IT projects, focusing on the implementation of new technologies and upgrades of existing systems.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams to ensure integrated and effective IT service delivery.

How you strengthen our team
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience as a Unix/Linux specialist in a similar role.
• Technical Skills:
o Extensive experience with Ansible for automation.
o In-depth knowledge of Red Hat and Oracle Linux.
o Proficiency with monitoring tools like Zabbix.
o Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• Preferred Knowledge:
o Familiarity with GLPI (IT asset management)
o Experience with Spacewalk/Uyuni (Linux systems management)
o Knowledge of AIX (IBM Unix operating system)
o Proficiency in Dutch, both spoken and written.
• Certifications: Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or similar are a plus. At least a completed MBO (Intermediate Vocational Education) degree.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
