Your future duties and responsibilities:
As a Security Consultant at CGI, your focus will be on Operational Security, ensuring that the organisation's delivery to clients meets high-security standards across multiple domains. You will be part of the Operational Security Team (OST) and responsible for various key areas, such as:
• Day-to-Day Security Management: Overseeing the operational security actions related to the client's delivery, ensuring steady progress, and maintaining compliance with internal and external standards.
• Handling Security Incidents: Responding promptly to security issues and incidents, managing them effectively, and ensuring they are resolved to mitigate risks.
• Point of Contact for Security Aspects: You will serve as the primary contact for all security-related areas, which include personnel, physical, cyber, and technical security. This encompasses tasks such as Vulnerability and Patch Management, vetting processes, and maintaining security in data centers.
• Off-Boarding of Programme Leavers: Ensuring that when employees or contractors leave, they are off-boarded in a secure manner, adhering to confidentiality protocols. This includes those who leave CGI as well as those moving to other projects within the organisation.
• Contract Compliance: Helping to ensure the security aspects of the contract with the client are adhered to, and any foreseeable issues are communicated to the appropriate managers in a timely fashion.
This role requires you to work collaboratively with senior managers, customers, technical teams, and internal staff while maintaining a high level of security awareness and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with IT infrastructure, vulnerability management, and patch management is essential, and you should be comfortable working in both team and individual capacities.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Experience in Her Majesty’s Government (HMG) or Defence sectors: Proven ability to navigate and comply with the specific security protocols and demands within these sensitive environments.
• Interpersonal and Communication Skills: The role requires effective interaction with colleagues and customers across different levels and contexts, demonstrating professionalism and adaptability in communication.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work across the organisation, engaging with various teams and departments to maintain cohesive security practices.
•Composure Under Pressure: In fast-paced or high-stress scenarios, maintaining calm and delivering security solutions efficiently is critical.
• Strong Comprehension and Execution: Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately, ensuring security measures are fully implemented.
•Effective Verbal and Written Communication: This includes producing security reports, updating clients, and communicating with internal teams clearly and efficiently.
Candidates should ideally hold or be working towards certifications such as:
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
You will need to already hold a UK Security Clearance to SC level and will be required to apply for DV clearance on joining
You will be ideally based in either London, Bristol, Reading or Bridgend, but other locations will be considered. Travel to client sites will also be required on an ad-hoc basis.
