Payroll Analyst II

Position Description
CGI Federal is expanding their presence in Charleston, SC with one of their existing customers. Due to contractual requirements, the position requires US Citizenship and qualified candidates must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:

The Payroll Analyst II performs intermediate level payroll processing activities in support of the government, for employees located domestically and overseas and other Agencies/Customers as required.

Time & attendance.

Processing payroll.

Computing wages and overtime.

Calculating general and some difficult payroll deductions.

Conducting general and some difficult financial analysis to resolve discrepancies to include over/under payments.

Checking and auditing timekeeping records for compliance with established federal/local/country law standards.

Maintaining time and attendance and payroll records.

Managing general and some difficult pay action inquiries within an automated software system.

Act as a liaison with other departments to resolve payroll issues and correct mistakes in a timely manner.

Entering new hires into the payroll system.

Answering/resolving general and some difficult questions about pay discrepancies, preparing correspondence and communicating with other departments via e-mail.

Review and prepare general and some difficult statistical/financial/operational reports, monitoring and posting general and some difficult changes in pay, pay plans, personnel actions, health benefits, allowances, insurance, leave, tax status and other miscellaneous changes.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree and at least 2-3 years of experience or a Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of experience in payroll, accounting, business administration, human resources, computer science or financial analysis.

Must have experience working in financial or payroll automated systems, such as PeopleSoft and be able to create and work with spreadsheets and/or databases.

The Payroll Analyst II should be organized, analytical, have good problem solving, customer service and interpersonal skills, as well as encompass a strong attention to detail and be an excellent communicator (verbal and writing).
