We’re looking for a Data Developer to be part of a small, high-performing AGILE team working with a variety of Open Source big-data technologies, including NiFi, Kafka, Accumulo; dealing with high volumes of data that needs to be efficiently identified, attributed and stored before being broadcast out to downstream systems.

The structure of the datasets often need to be manipulated to fit with the supported models; which requires transcoding between data formats (json, avro, xml) and, in some cases, transformation across client-specific data structures. The solution is completely containerized and deployed using docker-compose onto AWS EC2 instances for dev and test.

Our roles are only available if you hold or fulfil the criteria to obtain a UK Security Clearance.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Optimise clustering to increase the resilience of data components
- Writing new custom NiFi processors to perform dataset specific tasks
- Perform increased data analytics using ELK stack and others
- Creation of new mapping models between data structures and maintenance of existing mappings

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- A track record of working as a software engineer
- Python
- NiFi

Our projects are based in a CGI office or client site but may require travel to other locations.

The successful candidate must be able to spend time working away from home, if required.
