CGI is seeking experienced Network Engineers to join our growing Space, Defence & Intelligence (SDI) team. This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical network infrastructure supporting Australia’s national security and advanced space capabilities.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of secure network environments across Defence and Space programmes.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing, configuring, and maintaining secure network infrastructure
Supporting network integration with satellite communication systems and ground segments
Managing routing, switching, and network security across complex environments
Monitoring network performance and conducting troubleshooting and optimisation
Collaborating with systems, Satcom, and software engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions
Ensuring compliance with Defence security standards, policies, and accreditation requirements
Supporting system testing, deployment, and operational readiness activities
Maintaining accurate network documentation, configurations, and procedures
Contributing to incident response and continuous improvement initiatives
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Proven experience in network engineering within enterprise or secure environments
Strong knowledge of routing and switching (e.g. TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs)
Experience with network security technologies (e.g. firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS)
Exposure to satellite communications, RF environments, or defence networks (desirable)
Experience with network monitoring and management tools
Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent) are desirable
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in secure, multidisciplinary environments
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Active NV2 or PV Security Clearance (mandatory)
