.NET Developer (SQL Server)

Position Description
Become part of a team to help a large government agency with Application Development, Internet/Intranet website updates and SharePoint Administration. The application is an Asp.Net application written in VB.Net with a SQL Server Database. This individual will program application enhancements as requested as well as provide support to edit the static content in the Internet and Intranet sites.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Application Enhancements:
• Obtain a finalized/approved list of requirements and develop tool based on completed requirements
• Complete other application enhancements as approved by management
• Perform unit testing on enhancements
• Deploy tested code to Production
• Provide demonstrations of progress at critical stages
• Document up-to-date requirements, architecture, and implementation specifications for all development work
• Ensure all UI screens are 508 compliant
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions upon request as well as occasional mentoring
• Fix reported system defects
• Answer questions users have regarding the use of the application

Website Support:
• Assist with static web page updates
• Assist with dynamic webpage updates
• Assist with annual audit of Internet websites to align with templates and modern web design standards
• Ensure all UI enhancements are 508 compliant

SharePoint Administration Support:
• Update permissions for users upon request
• Establish new SharePoint sites upon request
• Assist with repairing any errors with data (if required) when moving from SharePoint 2010 to the cloud
• Assist with manually migrating SharePoint 2010 content to the cloud

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• 3-6 years of relevant experience plus a Master’s degree is required OR 8+ years' experience plus Bachelor's degree.
• Visual Studio 2010 and higher (2 years or more experience)
• VB.net and/or C# and higher (2 years or more experience)
• Asp.net 4.0 and higher (2 years or more experience)
• IIS
• SQL Server 2008 R2 and higher (2 years or more experience)
• SQL Server 2008 R2 and higher Reporting Services and Server
• Strong analysis and programming skills in HTML5
• Experience with 508 accessibility requirements for IE7 and IE8
• Experience with SQL Server Management Studio 2008 R2 and above
• Independent experience using SQL to create and update stored procedures and triggers, effective debugging, and performance tuning
• Understanding of 508 standards
• Microsoft Certified Application Developer a plus
• Dreamweaver CS5 and higher to modify HTML and CSS pages
• HTML and CSS experience
• Experience working with Drupal and modify web content on the Drupal platform
• Experience with using SharePoint 2010 to update permissions and create new sites.
