Jr. Software Trainer

Position Description
The Information Technology Resource Provider (ITRP) program provides training to a wide range of employees at the USPTO in Alexandria, VA. Experienced teachers/trainers are welcome to apply. Good communication skills, customer service skills, and teamwork skills are a must. The successful candidate will be responsible for varying aspects of instructional systems development in a fast-paced and innovative environment. ITRPs are expected to provide classroom training as well as phone, chat room or desk-side assistance for the federal staff. Will use and may help create eLearning tools to provide training and support.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Successfully complete 5-month ITRP Training Academy and stay current on all new USPTO automation tools
- Teach in-person and virtual classes as scheduled, meeting requirements of the contract Quality Assurance Plan
- Provide on-call user support on proper use of all USPTO automation tools
- Carry out scheduled duties to cover the ITRP Hotline, ITRP Chat Room and other support services
- Create top-quality instructional materials or perform well on other supplemental ITRP projects, as requested

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- BA or BS from an accredited undergraduate program in IT, Science, English, or Education related field
- 2 years’ teaching experience, preferably in an adult learning environment
- Customer service and customer satisfaction focus
- Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2016, and basic computer skills and aptitude
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Must be able to work as scheduled: Standard work hours are 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 9 AM - 5:30 PM, but occasionally classes or duties finish as late as 8 PM
