Position Description
Would you like to work for an organisation with over 40 years’ experience delivering secure, mission-critical IT solutions to Space, Defence and Intelligence clients.

We are currently looking for a Delphi Developer to join a project working on the next generation of medical systems used within the MOD. Building upon a high profile, challenging and successful programme in the UK Defence sector. The end user community are the Defence Medical Services (DMS) an umbrella organisation within the Ministry of Defence in the United Kingdom, which organises all medical, dental and nursing services within the British Armed Forces.

We are looking for an experienced Delphi Developer to work as a Subject Matter Expert. Working on a COTS product which has been highly customised with bespoke code and database schemas to provide the clients required functionality.

In addition to this, a number of smaller bespoke and customised applications are delivered in to the environment.

Our roles are only available if you hold or fulfil the criteria to obtain a UK Security Clearance.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Becoming an SME in the Core Product.

- Developing enhancements to the software applications.

- Assisting with the development of automation scripts and process improvements.

- Producing documentation as required, including release notes, installation guides, etc.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Essential Skills:

- Delphi (Preferably Delphi 6)

- SQL (Preferably SQL Server)

Desirable Skills:

- C# development on Windows using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (or later)

- Working knowledge of COM and SOAP within Delphi.

- Scripting (preferably PowerShell)

- Installshield Knowledge

Our projects are based in a CGI office or client site but may require travel to other locations. In this instance the work will be as part of a development team based full time in Reading with trips to Leatherhead. There will also be a requirement to visit a Third Party supplier for Knowledge Transfer at the start of the project.

The successful candidate must be able to spend time working away from home, if required.

The project operates regular 'rota based' outages, which developers would be part of for the role.

The outages take place outside normal working hours with overtime payable.
