Hybrid: Must be willing to go on site downtown Toronto 3 times a week

Position Details
Are you an experienced Data Engineering professional interested in working in a talented and collaborative team developing Cloud, Data, and AI solutions for leading global clients? Do you regularly find yourself in conversations about disparate and dispersed data sources and feel the need to create a robust data engineering infrastructure to sort that out? If you have the technical expertise to build pipelines and enable data engineering or ETL in organizations, a genuine flair for solving problems, and the mindset to collaborate with diverse clients and team members alike, we're looking for you.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

This is a hands-on role.

Responsibilities
• Deliver data preparation, transformations, and ETL/ELT development on AWS using services such as AWS Glue, Databricks, Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, and Amazon RDS.
• Build batch and streaming data pipelines with Databricks.
• Work with large-scale, complex, and big data datasets from dispersed sources.
• Use advanced SQL and Python skills as necessary.
• Gather client requirements, code, and build data engineering pipelines on AWS.
• Implement proof of concepts to demonstrate value and scale to full data engineering solutions across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Collaborate strategically with clients to explore data sources and build dashboards and analytics solutions using AWS analytics services.
• Support and collaborate with other Data Engineers or Data Scientists in the team with technical knowledge.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Essential Skillsets and Expertise
• Databricks (on AWS), AWS Glue, and Spark/PySpark experience is mandatory.
• Total 5-7+ years’ experience in Data Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in AWS Data Engineering.
• Experience building streaming pipelines on AWS (e.g., Kinesis, MSK).
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience working with Big Data.
• Knowledge of data analysis, storage, pipelines, and orchestration.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Experience in data engineering for AI or ML projects.
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools (e.g., Airflow, Jenkins).
• Experience working with Spark/Hive.
• Experience building analytics dashboards using AWS QuickSight or other BI tools.

“CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000 - $125,000." This role is a future opportunity.

We are seeking individuals with expertise in IT engineering-related functions, but licensure from an engineering regulator is not a prerequisite for this position.
