Position Description
Be part of something rewarding and interesting. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced application support analyst to join a close knit dynamic team to provide second and third line application support on a high profile service. You will have the opportunity to learn numerous new skills on some niche applications. Due to the nature of some of our clients our team are required to be SC cleared, and so applicants must be either be SC cleared currently or as a minimum be eligible to go through SC clearance. Your future duties and responsibilities
As an experienced Application Support Analyst you will be involved in the investigation, triage and fix of second line problems across a number of high profile clients, whilst communicating with the clients on a daily basis. You will be required to learn and take on knowledge of various bespoke specialist software such as Microsoft FAST and Oracle Weblogic. Other responsibilities will include developing, testing and implementing code changes, performing change activities, day to day monitoring and assisting software deployments. There will all be occasions when you will be required to travel to other CGI sites, and attend client meetings when required. Required qualifications to be successful in this role
The ideal person for this role is someone who has the ability to quickly diagnose complex issues and resolve them with minimal supervision. A proven track record of providing application support within a high pressure and challenging support environment is essential. If you are someone who is proactive and enjoys fault finding, and have strong customer relationship skills then you will be a good fit. We also require someone with a flexible attitude who can occasionally assist with evening and weekend releases. As an experienced Application Support Analyst you will as a minimum have experience of basic FTP, basic UNIX commands, Basic Shell scripting (e.g. ksh, Perl etc..) and the ability to perform impact assessments. Knowledge of service management methodologies such as ITIL is also required.
There are a number of niche systems we support. Experience of the following would be nice to have but is not essential: Microsoft FAST , Oracle Weblogic, Unix, SQL, Apache TomCat, Huntsman and Initiate, Advanced Java/J2EE modules (including Spring framework). Build your career with us.
