Accounts Payable Clerk

Position Description
CGI is hiring an Accounts Payable Clerk in Dallas, Texas. This is a full-time position with CGI, and all benefits start on your first day of employment!

In this role, you will work with our JIB (Joint Interest Billing) Accounting team on JIB analysis and reporting, and you will process A/P, reconciliations, GL, and/or handle IRS forms. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 2 years' of related experience, and relevant JIB, A/P, and on-line banking experience is strongly preferred. Heavy data and scanning is required for this position onsite in our Dallas office 5 days a week. Your future duties and responsibilities
- Perform research related to operator statements and report results to project team
- Gain an understanding of how legal structure functions between operatorship and non-operatorship related to JIB accounting
- Understand, review, and research general ledger accounts related to JIB process
- Analytical skills in dealing with JIB variances and ability to provide reasonable explanations with supporting documentation for related variances.
- Ability to understand and to interpret the terms of Joint Operator Agreements/Purchase Sale Agreements and apply relevant terms to JIB setup and process
- Assist with setting up and maintaining AFEs, process cash calls, and related prepayments
- Receive and process JIB/vendor payable invoices to accounting system, and gain an understanding of the JIB cutback process
- Ability to identify and apply appropriate coding to JIB/vendor invoices for LOE, CapEx, and related expense accounts
- Ability to analyze acquisition data and integrate such data into all segments within all systems
- Assist with preparing monthly account reconciliations and prepare necessary journal entries
- Ability to create Adhoc reports as needed to assist with reporting analysis
- Ability to test software patches/upgrades to accounting system in Train /Testing environment
- For general ledger accounts, vendors, wells, leases, AFE, working interest/division of interest decks understand all system attributes and the interface relationship between these attributes and system reports Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Oil and Gas Industry experience (preferred)
- Education or background in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
- Experience: 2+ years total work experience required
- Must be self-motivated
- Must be a team player and capable of working with minimal supervision
- Excellent analytical skills
- Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be flexible to changing circumstances, able to multi-task, problem-solve, and manage time and provide deliverables accordingly
- Be able to work with various levels of professionals inside and outside organizational structure
- Ability to work with various software programs such as MS Outlook, Word, and particularly strong MS Excel skills Build your career with us.
