LITEN is one of the main European research centers in the field of the new energy technologies. LITEN research activities focus on renewable energies, on energy efficiency and on high performance materials for energy.
Description de l'unité
Since the early of the 90's, Li-ion technology has been considerably improved and outperforms now other storage technologies (Pb, Ni-Cd, Ni-MH,…). With the rapid development of hybrid and electric vehicles, it is necessary to find new solutions to increase the battery performances. Solid state lithium battery are the next step to increase both safety and performances of lithium batteries.

Description de l'offre
The research project focuses on the development of a solid state organic electrolyte based on polymer materials and additives. The selected candidate will have to synthesize the new materials, process them (mainly by extrusion) and improve them. He/she will have access to a large panel of characterization methods to fully develop a new family of organic electrolytes: chemical characterizations (NMR, FT-IR), physicochemical characterization (TGA, DSC, SAXS …) and electrochemical characterizations (Impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge and discharge…).
Additional tasks will include:
Writing of technical reports and scientific publications
Monitoring the work plan of his/her individual research project
Participating in research meeting/seminar
Assisting training and supervision of students
The ideal candidate possesses a PhD in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering or related fields. Prior experience in electrochemistry and extrusion is an advantage. Strong and good communication skills (reporting) are expected.
Profil recherché
