Project Engineer

This is an entry level position for mechanical design and optimization, stress analysis, and failure analysis of drilling, completions and other related equipment.

Candidates will be expected to interact with clients to solve drilling and completion related problems. While primarily based in Houston Texas, opportunities exist, based on ability and experience, for international project work and in-house project operator support for both short and long term durations.

Key Job Functions:

· Design and select materials for drilling tools, completions tools, and other equipment.
· Perform root cause failure analysis on oil field related equipment using analytical techniques such as SEM, EDS, Optical Microscopy, XRD and Hardness testing.
· Interact with clients to solve problems related to critical failures of oil tubular components.
· Develop and review specifications for drilling tools, completions tools, and other equipment.
· Develop and implement quality assurance specifications.
· Pariticipate in internal research and development projects to extend the state of the art in the drilling & completions industry.
· Perform drill string, casing string, and engineered equipment “fit for purpose” design work.

Requirements:

Candidates with a Bachelors (BS) or Masters (MS) degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering may apply. Proficiency in MS Office is a must. Original technical writing sample(s) needed for interview consideration.
