This position's main role is to provide industrial hygiene service to Bureau Veritas' clients.  This position will provide industrial hygiene service in the Great Lakes Region, and possibly to other parts of the U.S.  During peak times, client demands may require the employee to travel up to 75% of the time.  The employee will need to be: familiar with various regulatory and advisory standards-setting organizations (e.g. OSHA, ACGIH, EPA); able to prepare for field work; calibrate equipment; document field work, including field notes about equipment and client employee activities; able to correctly interpret sample results; able to make exposure control recommendations following the 'Hierarchy of Controls' approach and develop a report of the assessment and deliver it on time.   The ability to write coherently is critical to this position.  Most of the employee's field work will involve sample collection, documentation of field notes and completion of chain of custody forms.  The employee will also be asked to:  help write proposals; assist Chicago - area operations in complying with Bureau Veritas' internal quality policy requirements and other duties as assigned.   Opportunities to professionally grow into the environmental and safety practice lines are present in Chicago - area operations too.  Bureau Veritas welcomes and supports employees motivated to earn professional credentials such as Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager and Certified Safety Professional.        

REQUIREMENTS

·  1 - 3 years of experience in HSE consulting, experience writing environmental, health and safety technical reports, experience conducting HSE audits, safety experience (for example, experience with fall prevention, control of hazardous energy, machine guarding or prevention of slips/trips/falls), environmental experience (for example, experience with hazardous waste management, SPCC plans, greenhouse gas emissions or EPCRA reporting)  
·  Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety or related field.   

 

EXPERIENCE 

·  0 - 3 years of experience practicing industrial hygiene, writing coherent (with correct grammar and punctuation) technical information; collecting area and personal air and noise samples, operating air and noise sampling equipment, conducting basic indoor environmental quality studies, use of MS Word and Excel, Education:
