IT Security Analyst - British Gas

British Gas Information Systems are looking for IT Security Analyst to join their expanding Smart Metering in-house IT Security team in Staines (TW18). We are looking for someone with experience in Information Security that we can develop into the resident expert in this field.

You will be at the forefront of influencing the future of British Gas IS Smart Metering Security, working with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that our customer details are maintained to the highest levels ensuring British Gas comply with the latest regulations for privacy and compliance.

Who we need

This is a perfect role for an experienced Security Analyst professional looking to take the next step in their career to eventually take more of a business and external facing role in Smart Metering Security and become the internal industry security expert on our Smart Metering environments. In this role you will in the short term and after Smart metering environment familiarisation be regarded as one of the resident smart metering experts within Information Security Consulting and be able to communicate at a high level with regulatory officials, and all staff from executive management to end users.

·  Engage with all internal and external stakeholders to understand end to end requirements; Project managers, BG Managers, Operations staff, UK Government officials.
·  Manage Information System technical standards
·  Work with Internal Communications to get the IT Security messages out to the wider Smart business
·  Translate technical information into layman's terms for the non technical audience
·  Assist in the review and execution of Risk & Compliance activities across the smart organisation
·  Work with external partner such as KPMG & PWC in audit related activities.
·  Design and develop the future security support functions for Smart.

Experience we need:

·  Knowledge of Information Security concepts, regulatory environments and risk management.
·  Demonstatable experience in being able to communicate the requirements related to business, processes and initiatives from external sources and to translate the message to a wider audience.
·  Knowledge of threats and vulnerabilities associated with emerging technologies
·  Professional information security certification e.g. CISSP, CRISC, CISM or relevant security experience.
·  Industry exposure to emerging risk and threat landscape
·  Strategic thinking and decision making
·  Experience in information security discipline including technical knowledge
·  Knowledge or experience of legal and regulatory environment (PCI, FCA, DPA, ISO27001, Smart Energy Code) would be beneficial but not essential
·  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
·  Ability to put complex issues in simple terms.
·  Ability to understand business issues and the impact on the business areas of proposed new control processes.
